The Wink Reports team regularly get together outside of work to catch up on what’s happening in the business, the goings on in our personal lives (usually how to wrestle toddlers to sleep) as well as to find out about the next great thing we’re interested in. Our most recent date was a paddle boarding lesson, organised by our HR Manager, Louise – a regular contributor to this blog.paddle1

Once the usual pleasantries were exchanged and the obligatory safety overview of the paddle boarding was complete, off we went kneeling, then standing (and me falling off), paddle boarding around beautiful Shoal Bay, north of Newcastle. Looking around the team, listening to the laughter and struggling to keep my balance, I was humbled by the realisation of what a privilege it is to be a part of this team.

Wink Reports now has a 50/50 female/male employee composition, an amazing feat for the once male-dominated tech industry. The diversity of educational, vocational and lifestyle backgrounds is what makes our team gel. Each and every member brings something to the table that no one else does and this, I believe is THE biggest factor behind the success of our flagship Wink Reports product.sup3

Whether we’re discussing marketing efforts, sales strategy, a complex software development initiative, making our team’s lives that much easier or simply completing administrative tasks, we stay in regular communication about all of it, being as open and transparent as possible and collaborating whenever possible using our cloud-based communications platform, Slack. Our team work really well together, and for Wink Reports and our other upcoming products to continue to grow, I’ll be doing everything I can to ensure the status quo remains on this front.
